The Warrington Township Zoning Hearing Board is a group of five members appointed by the Board of Supervisors serving staggered five-year terms.
The primary purpose of the Board is to help assure fair and equitable application and administration of the Zoning Ordinance by hearing appeals on the Zoning Officer's decisions and by granting relief from the literal enforcement of the Ordinance in certain hardship situations. The Board has no legislative power, but it has the power to grant special exceptions in certain specific cases. It is a quasi-judicial body, that is, its powers are to some extent judicial in nature.
The Board schedules hearings on applications when needed. They also hear appeals that come before it through the Zoning Officer, take evidence and issue written decisions of finding of fact. The Zoning Hearing Board meets by request only. Application to the Zoning
Hearing Board is a $500.00 fee. When needed, they meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM.
