Public Works

The Township Public Works Department provides important services for Township residents. The crew consists of four full-time workers and some seasonal workers. There are 98 miles of public roads in Warrington Township. 65 of the 98 miles are the responsibility of the Township crew. The other 33 miles are maintained by the PA Department of Transportation. All maintenance issues regarding these roads should be addressed to PA DOT at 1-800-FIX-ROAD or 717-848-6230.PA DOT roads are:

Private Roads are the responsibility of the property owner(s) to maintain.  Issues regarding these roads will be resolved between the property owners.  The Township will not be involved in private matters between property owners.  Below is a current list of private roads in Warrington Township:

All remaining roads are public roads maintained by the Township.

 Winter Snow and Ice Removal: The Township owns three large dump trucks and two small trucks for plowing snow and spreading anti-skid and salt. The crew is on call 24/7 all winter. Residents are required to help by removing their cars from public streets whenever 2” of snow has accumulated and by parking off-street until the snow clearing work has been completed. State Police will be called to tow or ticket cars that are in violation. Residents may be fined by citation for plowing or pushing snow on to public roads.

Spring, Summer & Autumn road work: Work during these seasons includes brush cutting, ditch cleaning and grading, patching potholes, resurfacing, mowing and weed-eating. The crew also replaces drainage cross-pipes, maintains Township owned equipment, and is the grounds crew for the Township facilities.
