Public Works (top)
The Township Public Works Department provides important services for Township residents. The crew consists of three full-time workers and some seasonal workers. There are 98 miles of public roads in Warrington Township. Sixty-five miles are the responsibility of the Township crew. The other 33 miles are maintained by the PA Department of Transportation. PA DOT roads are Alpine Road, Carlisle Road (Rt 74), Fickes Road, Game Road, Harmony Grove Road, Old York Road, Pinetown Road, Rosstown Road (Rt 177), S. York Road and Wellsville Road.
Winter Snow and Ice Removal: The Township owns three large dump trucks and two small trucks for plowing snow and spreading anti-skid and salt. The crew is on call 24/7 all winter. Residents are required to help by removing their cars from public streets whenever 2” of snow has accumulated and by parking off-street until the snow clearing work has been completed. State Police will be called to tow or ticket cars that are in violation. Residents may be fined by citation for plowing or pushing snow on to public roads.
Spring, Summer & Autumn road work: Work during these seasons includes brush cutting, ditch cleaning and grading, patching potholes, resurfacing, mowing and weed-eating. The crew also replaces drainage cross-pipes, maintains Township owned equipment, and is the grounds crew for the Township facilities.
Municipal Office (top)
The Municipal Office includes the Township Manager, Administrative Assistant, and the Permit/Zoning Officer. Just about any information a resident may require concerning property within the Township can be obtained by contacting the office staff. Each parcel of land is given an identification number by York County Assessment Office when it is created. Historical files are kept for each parcel of property in our Township including permits, transfers, and copies of past correspondence. Everything in our files is public information.

alerted all of us to the many responsibilities of
Emergency Management Agencies. Warrington
Township Emergency Management Agency works
in coordination with York County Emergency
Management Agency. Information can be obtained
from the York County website at www.yorkcounty.org and follow the easy steps to access
Emergency Services. Important TMI Emergency

Where to go if you are asked to evacuate:
Warrington Township residents take PA 177 and PA
74 West to PA 194 south to US 30 west to: New
Oxford Jr/Sr High School complex.
During an emergency York County will activate a
rumor control number 800-762-8187. If there is a
siren malfunction and a siren inadvertently sounds
call county officials at 800-427-8347 to report the
malfunction. Indications of a siren malfunction is a
siren sounding for more than five minutes or a siren
sounding with no accompanying message on the
emergency alert stations.
If you hear a 3 to 5 minute steady siren tone -
Step 1: Turn on your radio or television to an
emergency alert station for your county.
Step 2: Listen for official information and
instructions for your county.
Step 3: Follow instructions of emergency officials:
You may be asked to TAKE SHELTER/stay
indoors or you may be asked to EVACUATE.
If an evacuation is recommended while classes
are in session, students will be bused to a
designated host school outside the emergency
planning zone. The students will be cared for at
the host school until parents arrive to pick them
up. Specific information concerning student
pick-up points is provided to parents by school
officials. If you do not know the designated
pick-up point for your child's school, contact the
school principal or district superintendent and
request this important information now.
Wellsville Elementary School has students within
the 10-mile radius circle of TMI.
Zoning and Permit Officer (top)
Uniform Construction Code
January 9, 2004 Act 45 of 1999 and the Uniform Construction Code was adopted by the PA Department of Labor and Industry. Each Township within the Commonwealth was given until July 8, 2004 to enact a Township Ordinance to begin administration and enforcement of the Uniform Construction Code and the regulations associated with the Code. The Township has in place a Building Code Official and a Building Inspector.

Animal Control (top)
To report dogs running at large, stray dogs, or dog related problems
other than barking dogs within Warrington Township. Barking dog complaints
are
handled
by Mike Gasswint, Codes Officer at the Township office.
The Animal Control Officer’s contract does not include cats or cat
related problems. Warrington Township contracts with the York County S.P.C.A.
for the service of stray animal drop-off for private citizens.
Normal business hours are from 10 AM to 4PM.
The Dog Law is legislated by the PA Department of Agriculture.
